Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch
4 slices provolone cheese
4 hamburger buns
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Add the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and cornstarch. Pour over the beef and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine.
Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Divide the beef mixture among the buns, on top of the cheese.
Place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve immediately.
